What Is Critical Illness Insurance?

Critical Illness insurance is a form of supplemental health insurance that provides a lump sum cash payment ($5,000 to $75,000) if you are diagnosed with one of the following covered conditions:

• Heart attack
• Coronary artery bypass surgery
• Angioplasty
• Stroke
• Invasive cancer
• Non-invasive cancer
• Kidney (renal) failure
• Major organ transplant
• Advanced Alzheimer's disease
• Paralysis
• Coma

Policy benefits may be used for expenses such as deductibles/copays of your health insurance, lost income from missed work, everyday expenses like mortgage payments/rent, utilities, food, childcare, etc.  You may use the policy benefits for anything you choose.
